Drake Completes Highschool
He may be world famous, and a multimillionaire, but until yesterday he had yet to graduate high school. That being said, his success didn’t stop him from achieving his goal of obtaining his high school diploma.
Yesterday, rapper Drake announced that he had finally completed high school, at the age of 25, 10 years after he initially dropped out. Over the past five months, Drake has been working at managing his busy schedule with studying in order to obtain his diploma.
10 years ago, Drake Dropped out of the Vaughan Road Academy in Toronto, to focus on his music and acting career. At the age of 15, he was given a role on the Canadian TV Show “Degrassi,” and decided at that time that he would leave school in order to focus on his work on the show. Drake’s mother, Sandi, who happens to be a teacher, was heartbroken at the decision made by her son at the time to quit school and has since pushed him to complete his education.
Sandi stated on Wednesday that she was thrilled that her son had finally completed high school. She recognizes the importance of an education and has stated that just because someone is rich or famous doesn’t mean that they should abandon their studies. You never know when you might need to fall back on it.
Upon graduating, Drake made a statement saying “I was a kid who was lost. I knew I wanted to do music, but I dropped out of high school against my mother’s wishes.” According to Drake, he managed to get a 97% on his final exam and 88% in the course. He didn’t specify which high school course he is referring to or if it was the entire program as a whole.
Either way, we’re happy to see Drake complete his high school diploma.
