Nicholas Van Cutsem: Prince Williams Friend and Captain Escort At Royal Wedding

Meet Nicholas Van Cutsem he is a close friend of Prince William aka the Duke of Cambridge and he also commanded the soldiers that escorted William and Kate Middleton in their carriage from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace.

34 year-old Major Nicholas Van Cutsem  son of Prince Charles’ dear friend who became close friends since both students at Cambridge Hugh Van Cutsem the millionaire landowner and wife Emilie also a dear friend of Prince Charles and wife Camilla he has three bothers Edward (38), William (32) and Hugh (37). Nicholas went to Ampleforth College in North Yorkshire followed by Sandhurst military academy and then he joined the Household Cavalry.

He and wife 27 year-old Alice Hadden-Paton an event organizer got married on 2009, Prince William and Harry were ushers at their wedding, Alice’s brother is West End Actor Harry Hadden-Paton.

At Wills and Kate’s Royal Wedding Nicholas commanded the mounted soldiers who accompanied William and Kate’s carriage back to the Palace from Westminster Abbey, his brother Edward was  with the little bridesmaids at Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding anyways Ed and wife Lady Tamara Grosvenor (daughter of Duke of Westminster) little daughter Grace was one of Kate’s bridesmaids, William is Grace godfather, you might remember she was the gorgeous little girl covering her ears at the balcony.

Major Van Cutsem is under investigation after a unnamed trooper, a junior in the Household Cavalry claimed he was severely beaten by Nicholas with a horse whip, the alleged incident took place while Cavalry officer Major van Cutsem was a carriage’s ceremonial guard during a exercise where rioters played by a group of squaddies with the trooper among that group simulated an attack on the Queen’s State Carriage.

Witnesses said about that incident..

“The idea of the exercise was to run through what would happen in the event of protesters attacking Her Majesty’s carriage during a formal state procession. Half the squadron were posing as protesters but on this occasion they were successful in overpowering the ceremonial guard.”

“Several of them were pulled off the coach and in the process the allegation was made against one senior officer for using his whip. These mocked up scenarios are not unusual as part of training. But on this occasion it appears things may have got a little out of hand.”
