Debra Long is Matt Sandusky Biological Mother

Debra Long is speaking about how afraid her son Matt was of Jerry, Matt is one of the six children former Penn State Assistant coach Jerry Sandusky and wife Dottie adopted and he is the youngest.

Debra Long’s son Matt is today a 22 year-old man, one of the six adopted sons and daughter Jerry Sandusky and wife raised as their own. Matt in particular said once he didn’t know what could have happened to him and his siblings if they hadn’t become Sanduskys..

“My life changed when I came to live here. There were rules, there was discipline, there was caring. Dad put me on a workout program. He gave me someone to talk to, a father figure I never had. I have no idea where I’d be without him and Mom. I don’t even want to think about it. And they’ve helped so many kids besides me. “Who knows how any of us would’ve ended up if we hadn’t become Sanduskys.”

But according to Matt Sandusky’s biological mother Debra Long, her son Matt was really frighten of Jerry,we also heard about the suicide attempt he committed not long after he was adopted. Debra said she was fearful about Matt’s safety in their care,

“My son was afraid of Jerry. If Jerry said, ‘Don’t Talk,’ Matt didn’t talk,” recalls Long. “I would sit back and I would watch when Jerry would show up how excited Matt was and then as time went on I would watch the same kid hide behind the bedroom door and say, ‘Mom, tell him I’m not home.’

At the age of 10 Matt Sandusky was adopted by the Jerry and Dottie, it all happened when he got in trouble with the law in 1995, (something about a barn fre I believe) her mother was allowed to see him once a month for less than a day, Matt was a first a foster child before he was finally adopted by the Sanduskys, however his mom Debra Long never loss her parental rights.
