Marco Simoncelli Girlfriend Kate Fretti
Moto GP racer Marco Simoncelli lost his life when he was involved in a horrific crash at the 2011 Malaysian GP at the Sepang International Circuit on October 23rd. 2011, He is survive by his parents Paolo and Rossella Simoncelli the rest of his family and his longtime and beautiful girlfriend Kate Fretti.
24 year-old Italian Moto GP racer Marco Simoncelli who was part of Gresini Honda team lost control of his bike at the 11 curve during the second lap of the circuit riding between two bikers, he was hit by Colin Edwards and then his dear friend Valentino Rossi, Marco lost his helmet at the moment of the impact. Marco laid unconscious in the middle of his track, Edwards dislocated his shoulder, the race was stopped immediately with the red flag and medics rush to help Marco, however he was pronounced dead at the hospitals to to his injuries in the head, neck and chest.. girlfriend Kate Fretti and his parents watch with horror the moment of the accident.
“Because of the crash he had during the race, in which he was hit by other riders, he suffered a very serious trauma to the head, to the neck and the chest. When our medical staff got to him he was unconscious. In the ambulance because there was a cardiac arrest they started CPR (cardiac pulmonary resuscitation). Immediately in the medical center, with the help also of the doctor of our staff at the Clinica Mobile and local doctors, he was intubated and it was possible to take off some blood from the thorax. The CPR was continued for 45 minutes because we tried to help him for as long as we thought it was possible. Unfortunately it was not possible to help him and at 16:56 (local time) we had to declare he was dead.”
On that tragic day Marco’s family was by his side so was his beautiful Italian girlfriend Kate Fretti. He and 22 year-old Kate from the province of Bergamo comes from an Italian an Philippine heritage her father Maurizio Fretti is an Italian security guard her mother Girlie Magbitang is from the Philippines. Kate met Marco in Riccione and had been dating him for five years, they got engaged three years ago, and just a few months ago moved in together at the house they bought in Coriano, in the province of Rimini. Kate had been a regular at her amazing boyfriend’ races for the past two seasons. Her 23rd birthday will be this December.
Marco’s funeral was on Thursday 27 in Coriano, thousand of fans gathered to said their final goodbye to Super Sic, Kate was also there, she sat next to her in-laws in the chapel and said a few words afterwards..
“I am a believer, but I do not know what, I have my own theory. Marco was the perfect person and the perfect people can not live with us mere mortals.”

Dearest Kate and Marco’s family – an absolute tragedy ~ he has been taken in person But No one can ever take your beautiful memories of all the magnificent times you shared ~ forever in our thoughts in Australia – my husband and I were at Phillip Island in Australia and watched Marco so very proudly on the Podium with his wonderful 2nd place – he was a force to be reckoned with ~ a definite World Champion in the making..

Thank you for giving the world the gift of your son. Watching Moto GP will never be the same again. I miss his super crazy hair and watching him interviewed. Its nice to know he found his passion (in motorbiking). I hope one day to be as passionate about a job. I obiously did not know your son but I greatly admired his courage, passion and he was the consummate rider and sportsman. God Bless your family and Kate.
