32 year-old Stiliyan Petrov is the Bulgarian midfielder playing with Aston Villa, long time ago during his youth years he was a promising player with PFC Montana, that was before Dimitar Penev discovered him and signed him with CSKA Sofia. By the time Petrov was 19 Celtic F.C recruited him, with the Scottish team he won two cups and four SPL’s. In 2006 he signed with Aston Villa, in 2009 he was named Aston Villa’s Player of The Year. Petrov has been captain of the Bulgarian National team as well as he is of Aston Villa.
On Saturday 24th when Aston Villa was defeated by Arsenal 3-0 he experienced fever, he underwent test that revealed the presence of acute leukemia, he is schedule to begin treatment on Monday April 2nd. after his diagnose was revealed on March 30th, it was also announced he will take a break from soccer..

As you can see Stiliyan is not alone, we all are praying for him and his family, which brings us to his lovely wife Paulina Petrov, his soulmate for the past 11 years, they are childhood sweethearts, and proud parents of their adorable boys 9 year-old Stiliyan Jr. and 5 year-old Christian. Before moving from Bulgaria Paulina was a model.
