Tom Cruise Getting Flak From Fellow Scientologists?

Tom Cruise Getting Flak From Fellow Scientologists?

As you’re sure to know, Tom Cruise is a follower of Scientology. If you’re not aware of what Scientology is, you’re out of luck, because we aren’t even really sure what it is. From our very limited understanding, Scientology is a seemingly offbeat religion that has gotten quite a bit of negative reception over the years. Despite this negative reception, many different big name stars have been known to practice the religion: Tom Cruise being one of them.

Unfortunately for Cruise, things haven’t been all daisies when it comes to following Scientology. Some people have even gone on record as saying Scientology is one of the leading causes of his split with former wife Katie Holmes. If you’ve been paying attention to the Cruise/Holmes debacle you’ll know that while Cruise still supports Scientology, Holmes does not. Additionally, it’s also been said that their daughter Suri will not be a follower of the Church. As of now, we’ve heard nothing negative from Cruise in regards to this decision – something we assumed may be to be getting him quite a bit of hate from the Church itself.

And it seems we assumed right as according to recent reports, Tom Cruise is receiving negative reception from the Church of Scientology due to his continued support of Suri. Apparently, the Church expected Cruise to completely shun his daughter for not being a follower of Scientology. I don’t’ know about you – but if that doesn’t spell crazy, I don’t know what does.

This may not be all bad, however, as it should shine some light on Cruise’s positive mentality. Up until now many have questioned his intentions in regards to his belief in the Church of Scientology. Should these rumors be true, this is sure to net Cruise some much needed positive reception. But honestly, expecting him to go against his own daughter who isn’t even a teenager yet? Ridiculous.

Rupert Murdoch calls Scientoligists “Creepy and Evil”

Rupert Murdoch calls Scientoligists “Creepy and Evil”

Those who have followed Scientology and its rise as a religion are well aware that its a little crazy. Created in the 1950′s by fiction author, L. Ron Hubbard, the religion has gained prominence and currently has as many as 200,000 members, residing in various parts of the world. Some how, the religion has managed to become the religion of choice by many celebrities, including (and probably most famously) Tom Cruise. While most would consider the religion to be crazy and nonsensical, media mogul Rupert Murdoch has gone as far as saying that the religion is both creepy and evil.

This warning from Murdoch comes just days after Katie Holmes filed for Divorce from Tom Cruise. According to media speculation, the primary motivation for the divorce was the fact that Katie has been vehemently against teaching Scientology to their daughter Suri. Furthermore, Katie has become increasingly concerned with Tom Cruise’s involvement with the church, and the fact that he continues to aggressively push the religion on Katie. To make matters worse, upon announcing the divorce, Katie Holmes has reported that she is being monitored and followed by Scientology members, who are dismayed by the fact that she is publicly denouncing the religion. Scientology leaders are dismissing these claims and are saying that the men who have been tailing Katie are not associated with the religion.

This isn’t the first time that Scientology has been accused of harassing former members of the religion. In April, when one of the highest ranking members of the church, Marty Rathbum, decided to leave, police were called when Scientology leaders arrived at his house, stating that they were willing to camp out front “for as long as it takes,” to bring him back. Over the years, many have expressed their belief that Scientology is a scam. Comedy Central’s South Park even went so far as to dedicate an entire episode to Scientology, where it mocked the practices, religious texts and the entire concept of Scientology.

Either way, while many may disagree with Rupert Murdoch’s business tactics, some even calling him evil, it is clear that the majority of the public is on his side today.

Katie Holmes Files for Divorce From Tom Cruise & Seeks Sole Custody

Katie Holmes Files for Divorce From Tom Cruise & Seeks Sole Custody

Tom Cruise, like many other celebrities, has been in the spotlight for quite some time due to his out of the ordinary beliefs. Those beliefs, of course, lie within the Church of Scientology which Tom Cruise has pledged his allegiance to. His significant other, Katie Holmes, also embraced the religion after the two started dating but it seems things have finally started to unravel.

In fact, things have apparently gotten so rocky that Katie Holmes took it upon herself to file for divorce from Cruise, much to the actor’s dismay and surprise. According to reports, this came after several weeks of the couple spending their time apart after internal controversy arose. What exactly sparked this controversy, you ask? Scientology, of course.

According to these same reports Holmes (raised a Roman Catholic) has had enough of the religion and is afraid Tom Cruise will too heavily push it upon herself and their child, Suri. These actions apparently didn’t go unnoticed within the Church itself either. Additional reports have suggested that Holmes feels she is now being tailed by Scientologist representatives who feel she is now a threat to the religion as a whole. These claims were supported by supposed pictures of a white Cadillac Escalade and black Mercedes that have been seen outside of her New York apartment.

In terms of the actual divorce “irreconcilable differences” were cited and, get this, Holmes is seeking sole residential custody. New York, her filing location of choice, has become known to award a single parent sole custody so if Holmes can prove that she is a more fit parent than Cruise, her wish may easily be granted.

Finally, it’s also said that Holmes will be seeking substantial child support from the A-Class actor but no exact figures were stated. We’ll keep an eye on this as the story unfolds and let you know of any more exciting moves made by either party. Stay tuned!
