Spice Girls Musical to Debut in London
Sixteen years after the Spice Girls shot the musical video for one of their top hits, Wannabe, the group was reunited to announce the premier of their musical. The musical, titled “Viva Forever” will feature some of the top hits from the group and will be based on their rise to stardom. The musical is being produced by theatre heavy-hitter, Judy Cramer, who is best known for producing the Mama Mia musical. With such a high profile production team, coupled with one of the biggest pop groups of all time, this musical is sure to be a hit.
According to the Spice Girls themselves, who will not be appearing in the musical, the singers that they have recruited are excellent. According to Melanie Brown (Best known as Scary Spice), the singers sing better than the Spice Girls themselves. While you would have a hard time convincing long time fans of that, its definitely a great compliment for the show.
Throughout their run on the top of the charts, the Spice Girls sold more than 75 million records around the world. Most of the young girls who grew up with the Spice Girls are now adults, according to Victoria Beckham, who hopes to introduce “Girl Power” to an entire new generation of teen girls.
