Alanis Morisette to Join American Idol

It seems that just about everyday we have rumors of a new celebrity joining the cast of American Idol and acting as a judge. The producers of the show are surely well aware of how important picking the right cast is due to said cast contributing largely to the allure of the show. Simon Cowell was paramount in proving this as viewers tuned in week after week to watch his antics when faced with less than stellar contestants.

Now, Cowell has flown the coup and many different celebrities have signed on to fill his place. In the countless seasons of American Idol we’ve seen big names such as Jennifer Lopez, Ellen DeGeneres, Steven Tyler and more grace the judges stand. However, now that several of these judges are looking to go ways of Cowell, its leaving us to speculate who will fill their place.

Mariah Carey, for one, has announced that she would in fact be joining Idol as a judge but that still leaves several other unfilled positions. We’ve heard many different rumors as to who will be taking their position including people such as Snoop Dogg (er, Lion). However, today, more concrete rumors have surfaced that gives us a look at yet another judge that may be looking to join the cast. That judge is none other than Alanis Morisette.

The Grammy winning singer-songwriter recently took to Twitter to give us an interesting tidbit. According to her tweet, Morisette is in talks with “somebody” right now (which she can not name) that she is very excited to do so more formally. Of course, this doesn’t actually confirm that she will be joining American Idol as a judge but it does line up very nicely with supplemental rumors that point towards Morisette joining the cast.
