Charlie Sheen Done with Twitter

Charlie Sheen Done with Twitter

Ever since Charlie Sheen was kicked off of “Two and a Half Men” in March of 2011, Charlie Sheen has been one of the most active celebrities in the Twitterverse. Almost immediately after being removed from the show, Sheen took to Twitter to vent his anger, and quickly amassed a huge following. It took less than a week for Sheen to garner a mass following of 2 million Twitter users. He also created and popularized the hash tags #winning as well as #tigerblood. The two hash tags became nearly as popular as Sheen’s own account.

That is why it came as a bit of a surprise when Charlie Sheen recently announced that he would be signing off from Twitter and ceasing to post updates. He last post stated “reach for the stars everyone, dogspeed cadre. c out”. He then deactivated his account and hasn’t accessed it since.

Sheen isn’t the first celebrity to quit using Twitter, and he certainly won’t be the last. However, Sheen is definitely high up on the list of the most popular celebrity Twitter users, with a total following of more than 7 million Twitter users. Due to the fact that Twitter doesn’t actually delete “deleted” accounts, it is quite possible that Sheen will re-activate his account in the future. Given his huge following, its quite possible that he will, in order to take advantage of his sheer number of fans by using it as a marketing tool.

Charlie Sheen’s new television show on FX “Anger Management” premiered on June 28th. The verdict is still out on whether or not the show will be a success, but we wish the best for him.
