Janette Beverley- Michael Le Vell’s Wife

Coronation Street actor Michael La Vell is going thru a terrible time in his personal life, a shameful rape claim from a teenage girl who said he rape her when she was a 6 year-old girl, his wife Janette Beverley is devastated but standing by his side or leaving him. 46 year-old Michael La Vell has portrayed Kevin Webster a garage mechanic in the British soap opera Coronation Street for 28 years now, he is without any doubt a dear actor and as you can imagine when rape allegations of a 6 year-old girl come around, the only thing that comes to my mind is repulsion and feeling shocked.

La Vell whose real name is Michael turner is said to be not just shocked but horrified as well by the girl’s allegations now a teenager, he was arrested at his Hale home at about 8:00 a.m on September 30th and has been bailed by police until 16 November 2011, pending further inquiries. In a statement released last night he said the following..

I strenuously deny these allegations and will do everything in my power to prove my innocence, His friends can’t believed what happened..

“This has left him shattered. It came completely out of the blue. The police just arrived at his home at breakfast time, told him of the allegations and arrested him on the spot. He was extremely shocked.

He was taken down to the police station like a criminal and was horrified by the whole thing. It has left him distraught and upset and he looks really, really drained. He holds quite strict moral opinions so the arrest is even more shocking for his friends to understand.”

Janette Beverley married her childhood sweetheart Michael on October, 1986. Together they were blessed with two gorgeous kids Amelia age 16 and Finley age 12. Janette starred next to her hubby on 1984 in Coronation Street as Elaine Pollard. Also on 1984 she was seen as Sharon Wilkes in Sharon and Elsie.

On 1990 we saw her as Charmaine in the television series Coasting and as Sister Diane Meadows and Sister Diane Gallagher from 1994 – 1996. Janette appeared next to her husband at the tv series Gameshow Marathon on 26 May 2007 when she and Michael were crowded champions.

On October 15th it was reported Janette decided to split up from her husband after 25 years of marriage, according to media they split up before his whole sexual abuse scandal break loose..

“It’s very sad, but they are estranged and have been for a while. This police investigation comes on top of everything else. It’s been the worst time of Michael’s life. It’s been a terribly stressful time for both of them. Michael has always been brilliant as a husband and dad and has never courted the celebrity lifestyle. The fact that his marriage is on the rocks has come as a complete shock. Right now his mind is all over the place. He has co-operated fully with the police and will continue to do so until his innocence is proved. It’s been the worst time of his life – but everything is out of his hands at the moment.”
