Sally Lapre is Don Lapre Wife
Don Lapre the famous infomercial guru that was charge with fraud in relationship to his company, he was arrested with self inflicted wounds, today he was found death in his cell. He is survived by his wife Sally Lapre and their two daughters, and is about his story with wife Sally that we are going to talk about.
Before getting married Sally Lapre was known as Sally Redondo, she met her soon to be hubby on 1988 he had recently dropped out of high school and started working at his dad’s company not long after that he funded his own company a dating company he named 1828 Club.
He met Sally and she became his business partner and wife when with a little more than $100 they drove to Las Vegas and got married, without any wedding rings. Upon they arrival back from Vegas he told Sally he was $35.00 in debt and declared chapter 7 bankruptcy for his 1828 Club.
Together with Sally as his partner they created a credit company called Unknown Concepts they offered credit cards, cash loans and discount vacations, he also created a 36 page manual on how to recoup a federal home association insurance refund and offering “900″ phone lines.
In 1992 came the infomercials and Making Money Show with Don Lapre,but things got weird when he received a warning by the FDA telling him his products weren’t safe to some people diagnosed with diabetes, heart stroke, insomnia, cancer he was warned once again the following year, on 2008 the vitamin sites were no longer working. From September 2008 to January 2009 he posted videos 0 day course for $295 covering small classified ads and Internet and direct marketing,
This February Lapre was accused of allegedly scamming 220.00 people with over $52 million with his via businesses involving real estate, vitamins and the Internet. He was arrested on June in Arizona with a self inflicted wound in the groin, it was believed he tried to cut his femoral artery, his trial was schedule for October 4th, but sadly that won’t happening, Sally Lapre’s husband was found dead in his Florence, Arizona cell on Sunday October 2nd.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sally and his two gorgeous daughter Tori and Erica throughout this terrible time.

Don Lapre was a con-artist and apparently so is his wife since she had no scruples spending the money Don stole from naive people! I bought into his program back in the 90′s. I was a stay at home mom trying to make ends meet and still be able to stay at home with my preschooler. In his infomercial he never says that certain states require a detectives license in order to help people find their refund from their insurance! I found it out after wasting my money, time and effort! And when I tried to get a refund, lets just say I am still waiting for my money! Money I didn’t have to risk!
He was a coward and obviously a liar and a thief! If he wasn’t then why did he commit suicide? He was guilty and he knew it and he didn’t want to face the consequences for his actions so he took the easy way out! I remember enjoying our trips to Las Vegas at his comped penthouse suite at Bellagio, the lavish meals, the fun times at the high limit tables. Don was always gracious with the dealers and the customers. He knew what he wanted and how to get it, he truly inspired me.
RIP – the guy did not deserve to die this way so quickly. God bless his family.

They assist prisoners who can be proven innocent through DNA testing. To date, 273 people in the United States have been exonerated by DNA testing, including 17 who served time on death row. These people served an average of 13 years in prison before exoneration and release. But, you would find these people to be criminals too – perhaps you even sat on one of their jurys.

Don Lapre was a great man that helped alot of people. The greatest vitamin in the world was a real business opportunity for many people. I have talked to many many people the took the vitamins and loved them. Don’s business was not a scam. If someone sold 20 Vitamin bottles, they earned a $1000. However, just Avon, Amway, and other business opportuntities, people sign up and end up doing thing with it. So don’t blame Don.

Hundreds of customers who purchased Lapre’s products complained that they were duped. Complaints poured into the Better Business Bureau of Central, Northern and Western Arizona and Internet sites such as the Ripoff Report.
Lapre’s Greatest Vitamin business in Phoenix was raided in 2007 by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. The investigation percolated for four years until June, when a federal grand jury indicted Lapre on fraud-related charges, alleging that the Greatest Vitamin signed up 226,794 people who invested in largely “worthless” business opportunities from 2003 through 2007.
The company solicited customers through infomercials, phone calls and a website. In exchange for a small, up-front fee, customers were given the chance to become “independent advertisers” who could earn commission checks of $1,000 or more by getting customers to buy vitamins through customized websites.
These customers were sold Internet advertising packages that cost thousands on the promise that it would drive traffic to their customized websites. Federal prosecutors alleged that the advertising was largely ineffective, consisting of pop-up and banner ads.
Lapre promised $1000 commison for every $900 in product sold, which eaither made him the world’s worst mathemtician or a very transparent conman.

I made money from his money making program. One of his books that had a listing of wholesale company’s. I ordered products from a few of them and sold them at the flee-market and made a small fortune a lot more then I paid for the program.
Multi level marketing is a quasi legal version of a pyramid scheme. Don Lapre was the man at the top. He made his money off of other people. Not by selling products, but by selling hope. I am sure CBS News, Rip Off Report, the UPS, and the State of Arizona could not have all wrongly persecuted him.
Look at the pictures on his website, he liked to live large off of other people’s money. He eventually got caught. At some point you have to pay for the ride.
I was a distributor for “Greatest Vitamin in the World” and earned a $5,000 Bonus Check for being one of the top sellers one month!
Now…if people that bought his programs would have worked and followed his ideas..they would have done well.

I worked with Don for many years and saw so many worthless people taking money from him and not doing a frikken thing except pretending to be his friend. All he ever tried to do was provide people opportunities for a great life with the entrepreneur spirit. But people he worked for demanded more and more from him until he had no more to give. When we first filed chapter 11 back in the reminder service/900 line days he was so distraught that he let people down he wanted to kill himself then. He would call me up late at night and I would try to put it into perspective for him. I reminded him that it was only money and if these people he was so concerned about had any desire, ambition or drive they would go out and provide for themselves and not to worry about it. I was wrong. They continued to suck the life out of him. you people know who you are. Don gave some of his “inner circle” people 40,000 just so they could have nice houses. where the f*@k were those people when he needed them? NOWHERE! Rest in peace Don. I will always appreciate the things you taught me and enabled me to get a great job. If he was so successful and on the up-and-up, why did he have to file for bankruptcy so many times, then seemingly open back up under different company names?
To me, scamming, misleading, misrepresenting, and the whole carnival side show “snake-oil-salemen” tactics are intended to do one thing, separate people from their money by preying on the weak, innocent and naive!
This is certainly a tragic story, and terrible for the friends, family and loved ones, but one that tends to repeat itself in our society.
Where there are trusting and naive people, there are going to be the bottom feeder used car salesmen type to happily separate that money from them.
While the self inflicted demise of Don Lapre is awful and sad, it ensures one thing…there will not be another victim at the hand of him and his tactics…but rest assured, another fast talking slick willy will come along to seek out the weak and naive looking for the magic pill or silver bullet to get rich, thin or anything else…quick!

Hey doit, that creature has only been dead 11 months not “years”. But the the devastation he and his wife has produced in thousands of lives will be remembered for decades.
