Snoop Dogg Expresses Interest in American Idol
When considering real iconic rap names only the most oblivious would fail to mention Snoop Dogg. Joining the game in 1992, Snoop Dogg (whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr.) has managed to become one of the most recognizable names in the industry. Along his journey, Snoop has appeared on hits with countless big names including the deceased yet legendary Tupac Shakur. But, helping to further the career of other rap superstars isnít the only thing Snoop has been involved in as he’s also managed to sell an estimated 20 million records of his own. Additionally, he’s also appeared in popular movies and television shows, endorsed alcoholic beverages and dipped his toes in just about every other type of business venture you can think of.
Now, Snoop Dogg is looking to give his career quite the shake up and do something he’s never done before. After making his way to Jamaica to record an album completely devoid of rap, the iconic rap name has been reincarnated as Snoop Lion and no, we’re not kidding.
Other taking his name for a stroll through the animal kingdom, it seems that Snoop Dogg is also considering making his way onto American Idol. TMZ recently linked up with Snoop Dogg and asked him if he would be a judge on American Idol given the chance to which he allegedly replied “I’ll do American Idol”. Now, before you get too excited make note that there is no official word from the producers that Snoop is being considered as a judge for American Idol, so take this with a grain of salt.
I don’t know about you, but in my opinion an all-star lineup including contrasting personalities like Snoop Dogg, er, Lion, and Mariah Carey would make for a highly entertaining experience. We’ll have to wait and see how this one turns out.
Great article! I agree that Snoop has managed to dip his foot into lots of things and American Idol can be another notch on his belt. I think Snoop teamed up with Mariah can be great for the show. Snoop’s help other rappers get a start why can he provide guidance on AI too. I’ve had fun watching AI for the past four seasons and I’m excited for season 12 to get going. It’s going to be great to enjoy my primetime shows commercial free using my Auto Hop feature. I hate having to deal with commercials and the Auto Hop will resolve this. I’m glad my coworker at Dish told me about this great new feature, which allows me to skip commercials or not. Every time I watch a new recording I have the option to select if I want to watch commercials or not with the press of a button they are gone. I won’t wear the batteries down in my remote as I’ve always done.
